A million shades of blue join horizon to horizon

Sun and ice contrasting to create a unique cocktail,

Dark then light, each hue melding into the next

Creating a pearl, immense yet equally beautiful

A scene, a feel, unique in this great expanse

White at times appears blue, then even deeper blue

A jaggered crack offering up an opportunity

Invites the local inhabitants to pay a visit

Sauntering into the picture comes the ruler

A white cuddliness that belies his true character

The prepotent beast surveys the crack for sustenance

A young one peers nervously back from whence they came
